Hi, I'm Jan Rowe
Jan is an award-winning West Australian spiritual abstract artist. She is the owner, manager and curator of Lighthouse Gallery.
Jan paints with passion. Her paintings are driven by an intense and concentrated engagement with a process that springs from her perception of the magical and beautiful qualities of light as it ebbs and flows through our lives, revealing the beauty and miracle of our very existence. Each piece speaks to us of the pure energy of the present moment. In doing so she takes us deep into and beyond the specificity of appearance of things, of actual “things in the world” to express with courage, the never ending process of light becoming matter, becoming energy, becoming us. Vivid, engaging, mystical, powerful, Jan speaks to us of the Nature of living life to the full, embracing the present moment and being and appreciating being alive right now.
Jan's paintings are poured, sprayed and dripped into existence. Every piece has the magical qualities of serendipity that comes from a trust in the process, a literal letting go of direct control of the application of paint to allow it to speak for itself, speak through the process of the magic of the creative universe. The results are stunning compositions of light and colour that reveal a magical and mystical connection with the artist’s intuition. Jan's paintings are indeed meditations, meditations on the enchantment of life, meditations on the miracle of the present moment, meditations on the exquisite mystery of the dream within the dream that is self awareness in the moment.
